In this article we are going to go over team's pass to run ratio, along with each team's passing distribution from the RB, WR, and TE position from this past season. A lot of a team's passing distribution has to do with game tendencies or certain game situtions. For example most teams will run the ball more often in the second half of games, while the other team will be passing more. These statistics will be broken down in a numerous of ways: quarterback completions (comp), pass attempts (att), running back targets (RB tar), running back receptions (RBrec), running back target percentage ( RBtar%), running back reception percentage (RBrec%) wide receiver targets (WRtar), wide receiver receptions (WRrec), wide receiver target percentage (WRtar%) wide receiver reception percentage (WRrec%), tight end targets (TEtar), tight end receptions (TErec), tight end target percentage (TEtar%), tight end reception percentage (TErec%), percentage of pass plays (%pass), percentage of rush plays (%rush), and points per game (PPG).

Nearly half the league (15 out of 32) teams threw the ball at least 60% of the time. Out of those 15 teams,  only 3 of them made it to the playoffs (Denver, New England, and Pittsburgh). There appears to have been a strong correlation between the percentage of plays resulting in a pass to the season long success of a team from last year. There were 8 teams that threw the ball less than 60% of the time on the season that didn't make the playoffs. Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Jacksonville, Miami, New England, New Orleans, Oakland, and San Diego, all threw the ball more than 62% of the time and the only team on that list that made the playoffs obviously was New England. Take New Patriots off the list and their combined record was 52-83.

Next we're going to get into each team's passing distribution for each position. This can really help from a fantasy football prospective in making difficult decisions between two wide receivers come draft time or finding those PPR runningback gems.
